18X20 acrylic on hand tie dyed canvas

Two solitary trees stand apart yet connected, their forms carefully painted over the swirling, unpredictable hues of a hand-dyed canvas. Beneath their sparse canopy, a lone picnic table rests, weathered and waiting, surrounded by the chaotic bleeds of color that hint at time, memory, and decay. The tie-dye’s abstract patterns seep through the brushstrokes, distorting the landscape like a faded memory or a dream just out of reach. The contrast between the structured trees and the untamed background evokes a quiet loneliness—an invitation to sit, to remember, or to simply exist in the space between solitude and presence.

This collection explores the tension between chaos and control, spontaneity and structure. In my practice, I merge the unpredictable, free-flowing nature of tie-dye with the deliberate, methodical techniques of landscape painting. The fusion of these seemingly opposing approaches allows me to engage in a dialogue between the organic and the intentional—between nature’s wild, unrestrained beauty and the human impulse to frame and define it.
